ABSTRACT

The aims of this study are; 1. to learn the effect of science which feature SETS visions that integrates student attitude toward disaster, 2. to know the differences between students achievements in the subject for fourth grade of private and state elementary students, 3. To learn the improvement of students attitude toward disaster, and 4. to learn their respons on the learning process. This was an experimental research. The population covers the state and private school students. The objects are the students achievements and attitudes toward the natural disaste. The basic competency is on the physical environment changes in the earth. The data were collected by using cognitive test, observation and questionaire. The results showed that the learning outcomes of those treated with TGT model in the learning of science that feature SETS vision is better than those with non TGT model. The average achievement of students in the private school (86) was better than those in the state school 1 (75). There was no significant difference of scores in attitude toward natural disaster between students treated with TGT (94) and those treated with Non TGT model (93), in the score range from 0 to 100.
