Force Analysis of Bench Press on Stable and Unstable Base
Journal Title: Strojnicky casopis - Journal of Mechanical Engineering - Year 2016, Vol 66, Issue 2
Abstract
The contribution reviews current technologies for the measurement of performance in athletes during stationary exercise and validates the technology utilizing accelerometry. The behaviours of force during the bench press exercise on a stable and unstable base are reviewed and the results are presented. It was found that, training on an unstable base can be exploited by athletes to maximize their performance.

Mechanical and Wear Properties of Friction Stir Welded 0–6Wt% nAl2O3 Reinforced Al-13Wt%Si Composites
Friction Stir Welding (FSW) of an Al-13%Si alloy matrix reinforced with 0, 3 and 6 wt% Al2O3 nanoparticles (nAl2O3) is performed and the optical microstructures, tensile strength, hardness and sliding wear properties o...
Buckling Analysis of Hetero-Junction Carbon Nanotubes
The buckling analysis of carbon nanotubes without and with hetero-junctions is described in this paper. The buckling behaviour was investigated by the finite element method and the carbon nanotubes were modelled as spa...
The Effects of Piezoelectricity Matrix Constants on the Charge of a Thin Membrane
This article is devoted to the comparison of the influence of the piezoelectric matrix properties on the magnitude of the resulting charge when a thin piezoelectric membrane of circular cross section, made from alumini...
Do not be Afraid of Small High-Speed Francis Turbines
In the first quarter of the last century hydraulic power plants were equipped with high-speed Francis turbines even in the situation when a contemporary project manager would suggest Kaplan turbine. The reason is simpl...
Thermal Characteristics of High Temperature Naturally Circulating Helium Cooling Loop
The paper deals with the process properties in terms of the heat transfer, i.e. the thermal performance of the thermal-process units within a helium loop intended for the testing of the decay heat removal (DHR) from th...
