THE EDUCATION AND SOCIAL REHABILITATION OF VISUALLY IMPAIRED CHILDREN IN THE NETHERLANDS
Journal Title: Journal of Special Education and Rehabilitation - Year 1997, Vol 1, Issue 1
Abstract
In the presented paper, in a very plastic way, short information is given for the transition from boarding schools for visually handicapped children to resource centers and integration of those children in the mainstream schools, in the early 70 -ies. At the same time, the necessary assumptions that were created for successful and multidisciplinary treatment ( medical, social, educational etc. ) are stressed. They enable integration of visually handicapped children, as a process that will constantly develop and enrich with knowledge and treatment.
