Abstract

Thedevelopment of transportation infrastructures is one of the main indicators ofadvancement and welfare of communities. Bridges are essential to road andrailway networks as transport links. Thus, extending the life cycle andsustainable development of bridges can increase the quality of human life.Steel is reputed as one of the most sustainable construction materials for itsunique characteristic of recyclability without losing qualities. In the pastfew decades, significant improvements in rolling and heat treatment processesand metallurgical advances have made it possible to produce a new generation ofconstructional steel material designated as the High Performance Steel (HPS).Higher performance in weldability and toughness of HPS steels compared toconventional high strength steels has increased the cost efficiency, safety andlife cycle of bridges. This paper reviews the prospects of the world steelindustry and introduces the outstanding steelmaking technologies in leadingcountries and their impacts on the bridge industry.

Abstract

Aim of this study is to provide solutions as to optimizing energyconsumption using new energies within residential buildings toward purposes ofsustainable development. Using fossil fuels causes increasing pollution anddestruction of the environment. Solution to maintaining the environment anddesigning buildings according to climatic circumstances and sustainablearchitecture development principles is using new and clean energies and this isa step toward reducing energy waste within buildings. This solution is broadlyused in industrial countries and recently in Iran. Such energies are in fullinteraction with the environment and result in reduction of damage to theenvironment. Therefore, this studyinvestigate and introduces new energies and solutions as to using new energiesincluding new energy systems encompassing non carbon sources of energy such assolar, wind, geothermal and neutral carbon energy like biomass in order tolower usage of energy within residential buildings as a model for architecturalplans toward reduction in energyconsumption for economic development and interaction with the environment which are among fundamental objectives ofsustainable development.

Abstract

Incivic designing and environment quality improvement process, the enhancement ofphysical-visual quality in public areas of a city is of utmost significance.Considering city as a living being, man requires vitality and vivacity. Clearlythe necessary component to the vitality of civic spaces is the presence ofpeople in city. By identifying and strengthening the factors influencing thevitality of civic spaces and establishing a relationship between visualelements, it is possible to revitalize city. By analyzing Imam Khomaini Squarein Anzali city and its surroundings as a case study, the current study presentssome instructive points on the organization of visual elements to enhance thequality of environment and to remove the tired exterior façade of a city. The present study aims to investigate how itis possible to establish a good association between lost civic elementsincluding visual system elements, vitality and discernibility using the issueof quality. Abstract

Incompatible container to content is an issue ofarchitecture. Namely, a place may be unfamiliar to us, and the environment mayseem strange to us naturally. Nowadays, development of the satellite cities has induced the population to settle more inindustrial cities, consequently, the increased population need housing, and weneed to build more houses in the satellite cities to eliminate both issues of urban development and housing for the population migrated to the industrial cities. A short glance to the architecture and urbandevelopment system of the modern city named Sahand reveals some undesirable spaces;the urban development system has disrupted communication of the users to theenvironment, also degraded interactions of the involved people in urbandevelopment process. This paper is firstly defining place and space viareflecting on communication concept to find relationship between users'communication to the environment; to know more sense of dependency to placethrough the project analysis.

Abstract

In a time when most of the Earth's fossil energy resources are decreasingand the population continue to increase, human needs to control his residentialspace weather in comfort range without any waste or excessive consumption ofenergy. Nowadays various technologies are used to create comfort, security, andsaving in costs particularly in energy consumption. Two-shelled facade is alsoone of the measures that with the advancement of knowledge and development ofscience in recent decades, has made it possible for construction industry to becompatible with the environment so that it can help to adjust heat, cold,light, wind, as well as outside noise and provide residents' welfare withoutwasting energy. The application of this technology is necessary in modernbuildings of Guilan according to the extent of the area in the country that canreduce a large part of fossil energy consumption by creating naturalventilation and draft that it's important factor of comfort is the reduction ofexcessive moisture in the area that is hard to bear for man. Therefore, the aimof this article is to study of the two-shelled facades and the amount ofinfluence of this technology on reduction of fossil energy consumption andman's comfort in the building. The descriptive-analytic research method hasbeen used in this research based on data collection by library method. Theresults of this study indicate that in addition to possibility of naturalventilation while controlling noise, wind, and rain, two-shelled facades case tohuman comfort in building with reduction of costs and creating a desiredlandscape.

Abstract

The reason tochoose this issue is paying attention to the spatial fluidity of Iwan andcommunicational and functional values of various kinds of Iwan in traditionalhouses of Boushehr. The traditional architecture provides the material andspiritual spaces in a way that has sincerity, intimacy, balance and peace. Iwanhas the conceptual and functional richness and in terms of form it has a greatrole in raising the spatial value and besides of an open space it leads tocreate a valuable structure. To achieve the spatial fluidity on Iwan, we musthave a special look to basic designing elements (shape, scale, pattern andbalance). We should look at the fluidity of spaces as a contiguous whole and aunited collection and avoid the one-dimensional and discrete look at space.Fluidity gives the audience a sense of physical movement and moves their eyesnot their body. The visual motion means when we stand fixed at a point inspace, our eyes have motion and move from one point to another.This raises aquestion that how the fluidity of space affects on Iwan’s forms of traditionalhouses of Bushehr which is one of the important factors influencing the form ofthe building.In this research first of all the concept and meaning of Iwan isdefined and then the spatial fluidity and various kinds of spatial fluidity ofIwan and Iwan fluidity of traditional houses of Bushehr has been discussed. The research method of this study isobjective, descriptive-visual observation, review of documents, analysis ofcases and library studies relied on theoretical concepts. The major findingsand conclusions of this study shows that Iwan as a seasonal place for sittinghas different orientation in the building and because of its climatic reasons,it is a semi-open space with different functions such as: it acts as a linkbetween the open and closed space, a passage and a link space also it hasrelation to the nature and causes cohesion of inside and outside and has spatialfluidity.

Abstract

Urban water supply network as an integralcomponent of every city is responsible for providing and transporting water whichis the most critical needs of the community. Any problem in this system impairscitizens' access to water. In the event of an earthquake or war or otherthreats, transmission and distribution networks are atrisk of serious damage and vulnerable. In designing water supply facilities, itis necessary to consider security infrastructure to cope with the crisis,in addition to theusual considerations of design. This subject isstudied in terms of passive defense engineering. Engineering passive defense isnecessary to reduce risk, control consequences of crisis and increase repairability which is discussed by implementing seemingly simple principle, butit is complicated in design and implementation. In this paper,sensitivity and risk-taking of different components of the water supply systemwith defensive measures is examined. Thus, strengths and weaknesses of each areidentified andpassive defense research priorities are determined for water supply facilities.

Abstract

It seems that those ­building ­which are used today as places ­of arts andculture for children ­ is probably designed with less attention to thepsychological needs of the users and the impact of the environment on user’sbehavior and their identities. Then paying attention to the needs andcharacteristics of­ the physical environment, to achieve the desired space isimportance ­. It is assumed that users and their behavior, are parts of anoverall system that cover place and the environment, human behavior alwaysoccurs in a location where it cannot be assessed without consideringenvironmental impacts. This in fact means to believe in interactions betweenhuman and the environment so as ­to say that the built environment has variouscapabilities in stimulating motivation and the ease of performing the behavioris related to basic human needs, and also it can be added that a sense of humanidentity with their surrounding physical environment is one of the methods andprocesses of the environment impact on human. So that ­ a human searches forhis identity in the surroundings. Obviously, this research presents a frameworkthat emerged from the field of behavioral sciences, as well as to respond tothe impact of the physical environment on the behavior of how children learnTherefore to generalize these findings to the actual physical specimensextraction of executive component of the objectives of this research areconsidered. Answering the above question requires a specific way of research.In this association referring to the history of research on the one hand ­isrelated to library research ­ that requires getting field information.

Abstract

Geographical conditions of Iran cause to provide four climatic regions includingmountainous temperate, moist-warm, warm-dry and cold-moist. These four climatescan be effective on providing types of village buildings and different shapesof construction in each area. Thisclimatic condition during the several centuries cause to create Local architectureand Iranian people produced the traditional architecture structure in thisregions based on the recognizing the type of existence materials. It seems thatthe texture of the Local architecture in country have different structures. Thematerials changes with lapse, but it can be possible to conserve native textureof villages similar to previous using new operational methods and structure ofLocal materials. Moreover, we can introduce this method to other societies.Kishdareh village is located in Guilan province. The architecture of thisvillage is in accordance with the special climate of region. This studyattempts to recognize the architect of traditional buildings and introduce thearchitecture of settlement space and introduce suitable method to basal usagefor mentioned village. Thus, required data was collected from mentioned villagethrough observation, control and field survey method with considering theproperties of traditional architecture of Kishdareh village and operationalmethods and recognizing native materials.

Abstract

In architecture field, paying attention toenvironmental hazards and their destructive affect on health and human life,emphasis on personal health protection and its profound connection toenvironment and human pleasure of life in the buildings which support hissecurity, welfare and health, caused to formation of the sustainablearchitecture. In the stable architecture we can see that the building as a partof the environment and its surrounding nature not only does not waste energy,doesn’t make any environmental pollution and doesn’t have any bad effect onhuman health but also moves toward achieving the goals of sustainabledevelopment by energy saving and efficiency, having materials consistence withthe climate and being in ecology cycle. The object of this study is torecognize the methods to reach sustainable architecture as the principles of climatedesign has been forgotten nowadays and the society has encountered unpleasantdifficulties so our try is to recognize the principles and concepts ofsustainable architecture and using them efficiently to reach a sustainable house.In this study the consistency of the patterns used in the architecture of oldhouses in with the principles of sustainable architecture is verified. Studying methods, library researches such as books papers and websites were used to gainpleasant results .we can conclude that the sustainable buildings please bothphysical and spiritual needs and actually they are systems which indicatesustainable development in the community on the basis of human health,efficiency and welfare.

Abstract

Municipal waste management in our country in order to control solid waste,especially industrial, toxic and dangerous waste seems an inevitable task.Thousands of tons of waste generated in different parts of the country with itspollution, is a problem that should be placed at the forefront of environmentaland health programs of the country due to population growth and the developmentof industry and technology. Emissions of different wastes that are being addedevery day while causing damage to the original sources (water, soil, air) hasled to encountering large amounts of waste material in the forms of solid,semi-solid, liquid and gas and that means that human beings have made their andother beings' life a hell. The collection, disposal, recycling and solid wastemanagement in Iran is significantly different from other countries in the worldin the type and quality of waste, so using any technology without exact studiesand evaluation in order to understand material and adaptation with localfactors would not have favorable results. On the one hand, existence of organicmaterial and moisture in the household waste, and on the other hand, thedramatic differences in climate and environmental conditions in differentregions of the country with their own unique style and culture, are themselvesreason for rejecting the uncontrolled use of technology dependent on outside.Experience of years of recession in the processing compost and payment ofexpenses for waste collection and disposal indicate the importance of thisissue in the environmental programs in the country. For this reason, and giventhe importance of this issue we will in part address the practical hazards non-normativewaste disposal and its environmental impacts.

Abstract

Sustainabledevelopment, justice among generations and human's endeavors for progress anddevelopment together with protection of environment and the existing resourcesshow that the role of the transportation sector to reach sustainabledevelopment is very effective. Tehran-North Highway is one of the most important elements oftransportation in the process of sustainable development of north of thecountry, particularly in the coastline of West Mazandaran Province. In thisstudy, using the objective observations, library studies and collecting surveydata, the fourth district of the highway in the first phase of the project andthe quality of its link and adaptability with the coastline of the WestMazandaran region, particularly Noushahr and Chalus cities are studied aiming toassess the sustainable development of the region. The studied characteristicsare: noise pollution, pollution of the water resources and aquaculture,extinction of animal species, extinction of plant cover, waste management,rural texture and body and tourism industry. The results of the study show thatincreased capacity and safety of the road and the reduced travel time are thepositive effects of the high way, while noise pollution, extinction of animaland plant species and absence of correct waste management mechanism are thenegative effects of it on the region. At the end, solutions to reduce andremove the negative effects of the project based on sustainable development ofthe region are suggested.

Abstract

The present research study and compare 5 well-known climatic indices inRasht city. For studying these five indices a 15-year statistical climaticperiod (1995-2009) has been used. The aim of this paper is to assess that howmuch the results of each of these indices are close to each other that are theresults provided by the indices are the same. The present paper tries to answerthis question:”how much the results of the climatic indices are similar andclose to each other and how much these results differ from each other?” For thesethree Mahoney, Evans and Givoni indices architectural guidelinesand principles have been as well provided and we hope that they will be useful.The research method used in this paper is qualitative method with an appliedapproach. The analyses indicate that regarding the coldness of the January, February,March and December months all the indices share common aspects. Also, there isno different between the cold, warm or temperate weather of the days of themonths in the Mahoney, Evans and effective temperature indices. However, in therest of the days and nights of the indices some differences in the results areseen. Therefore, we can conclude that in Rasht city the results of the threeMahoney, Evans and effective temperature indices results are so much close toeach other; however, there is a different in the results of Givoni and Biker results.On an average basis we can say that in this city three months of the year theweather is moderate and therefore, a comfortable condition exists and for 3months the weather is warm and for 6 months is cold. Based on architectural guidelinesin these 6 months that the weather of this city is cold the buildings requireInsulation and heating devices. In these months the air penetration through theseams of the windows and weak joints of the buildings should be prevents andthe heat of the sun should be used. In the other 6 months of the year thebuildings are required to make use of the air circulation, while in four ofthese months the air circulation is necessary.

Abstract

This study surveys the force majeure process in comparative law with a brief look to Iran law. Result of this paper states that force majeure is accepted in all legal systems as an excuse for failure of performance; because, it may cause performance practically impossible. Hence, it has impressive effects on contract. In common law, the terms "termination of contract" and "impossibility" are used instead of force majeure. Also, force majeure and hardship are distinguished. Force majeure causes impossibility in contract performance, while hardship causes one of parties falls in a hard circumstance for performing the contract promises. Almost in all international contracts, force majeure condition is considered. It is analyzed and regarded according to initial circumstance of contract and implied terms.

Abstract

Facilities and services in the cities are the most important indicators inthe development of urban tourism. For this reason, the necessity of evaluatingthe role of these services and facilities in the development process of urbantourism is of immense importance. Due to the necessity of research andrecognition of natural facilities and potentials available in Ramsar city,introduction, recognition and targeting of these natural powers are required.Ramsar is one of the coastal towns of Mazandaran province which is ofconsiderable importance in tourism in terms of its specific geographicalsituation and location near the Caspian Sea with the soft sandy beach, havinghot and cold mineral springs, lush and beautiful forest environment and theCaspian region which attracts numerous domestic and foreign tourists everyyear. The present study is aimed at increasing the power of ecotourism in thecity of Ramsar, identification of tourist facilities and services, and increasingthe satisfaction rate of urban tourists in the study area. The research methodis of descriptive-analytical type, and the field and library methods were usedfor data collection. Using Cronbach's alpha method 242 questionnaires wereconsidered and were conducted for completion by the tourists present in therecreational places of Ramsar city which have been analyzed by means ofinferential statistics of Chi-square test after the data is addressed in SPSSsoftware environment. The most important research findings have been pronouncedto be the dissatisfaction of tourists with the cleanliness of the beaches andparks, lack of appropriate and adequate toilets in tourist spots, high price ofgoods and brightness at night. The factors most effective in attractingtourists in the city of Ramsar were stated by those questioned to be the seaand the beaches of the city of Ramsar, hot mineral springs, waterfalls, and atlast mountains and forests in order.
