CAPTIVITY IN DEDE KORKUT'S TALE AND OGHUZ'S REACTION

Abstract
Dede Korkut’s Tales, which is one of the most valuable literary production of Turkish culture, have been investigated by researchers and the conclusions of these researches enriched the cultural treasury of our nation. This paper focuses on the heroes of Oghuz who are the essential part of the plot. The imprisonment of the heroes, how they were treated under the captivity of the infidels, and the reflection of the imprisonment of the heroes in the social life are given in details.
