Journal Title: The Journal of International Social Research - Year 2016, Vol 9, Issue 42

Abstract

War is defined as armed situations, the implementation of all forms of violence targeted at individuals and society, distorting anatomical and psychological integrity. So the war is considered as a direct expression of hate. Wars are inevitable events in human history. Whatever the technology used in the war and gets evaluated according to the criteria war is destructive. This destruction begins long before the time the war began, and shows itself in all areas of life as a biological, psychological and ecological destruction until long after the end of the war. War is common theme in the literature as are the events that are subject to many and different kind of works. Literary works are too much about war. So these produced a kind of book which is called war literature. The Balkan Wars which is still a bleeding wound of Turkish history due to bring pains in its wake and damages posed on social fabric, is also one of the important events that happened in the Balkans after the 19th-century Crimean War and the Ottoman-Russian War (93 War). For the Balkan wars “real end of the Ottoman state” to say, it would not be wrong. In as much as the lands of the Ottoman Empire had lost in 1912-1913, the state can be seen as the central region. These wars, in terms of the Turkish nation, are the only one ring of disaster in the 20th century. Balkan Wars which is deeply influenced Turkish history as politically and socially has affected many of our authors, poets and artists. Looking at the works of writers in this context, it is seen dominated by epic approach, glorified of The Turkish military, intended to give moral to army, and maligned of the enemy by those written at the beginning of war yet. In the texts written at the end of the war, with effect from defeat, it is seen came into prominence of sadness, pessimism, hatred and revenge. Also in these works it is stood out vigorously handling the subject of massacre and migration.
