ONE OF THE TURKISH-PERSIAN VERSE DICTIONARIES TUHFE-I SEMSI

Abstract

The work named Tuhfe-i Şemsi, in the 17th century, penned by Şemsi Dede, who was a Mevlevi, is a Turkish-Persian poetical dictionary. As understood from the preface, the author, while preparing his work, benefited from the works like Tuhfe-i Şahidi, Bostan, Gülistan, Mesnevi. In this study, after making a brief evaluation of Tuhfe-i Şemsi, along with the implementation of writing translation, we have attempted to present the essay to the use of scientific community.
