Study of oxidative stress and uric acid in preeclampsia
Journal Title: Medpulse International Journal of Biochemistry - Year 2017, Vol 3, Issue 3
Abstract
Aims: This study is aimed to evaluate malondialdehyde levels, serum uric acid levels and serum superoxide dismutase activities were evaluated i women with preeclamosia (Group I) Results: In preeclamptic group lipid peroxidation product malondialdehyde (MDA) (10.45 ± 5.65 v/s3.65 ± 0.72nmol/l) is significantly increased than in normotensive pregnant (control group). The serum superoxide dismutase activity (1.08 ± 0.36 v/s 2.70 ± 0.70 u/ml ) is significantly decreased in preeclamptic group than in controls while uric acid level (5.82 ± 2.47 v/s 3.20 ± 0.65mg/dl) is significantly higher in cases preeclamptic women Conclusion: Increased malondialdehyde and decreased superoxide activity with higher dysfunction are contributing for oxidativ
