ABSTRACTThe author has analyzed the melodic formulas znamienniy raspyev on the example of the dogmaticon of the first tone of the Lavra Irmologion from the 16th century. As a result of comparative analysis the Author has shown links between the West Ruthenian and the Moscovite tradition of Orthodox church singing. By analyzing the location of particular melodic formulas the Author has proven a close connection between the melodics and the liturgical text. As a result the Moscovite the Author came to the conclusion that the melody of each of eight modal scale the Old Ruthenian Irmologion and Octoikh is a result of long-term historical development and mutual interpenetration of two musical cultures i.e. Byzantine and Ruthenian. |
