A STUDENT AS A KEY STAKEHOLDER OF A HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTION IN THE CONTEXT OF TWO-WAY ONLINE COMMUNICATION

Abstract
With the development of information and communication technologies and the economic and social transformation, the needs and expectations of the student community are also changing. The development of new media makes that a modern student should have a wide and comprehensive range of tools at his or her disposal to improve communication, information, education, and the integration of the academic community. The aim of the paper is to present the most important elements of integrated systems of managing a higher education institution (HEI) , e-learning systems, dedicated web portals, social media and mobile applications, with reference to the most important stakeholders of the higher education institution. The paper focuses on the integration of ICT tools as regards the technology and communication needs of students. Supporting the process of two-way communication on the student – HEI line through intuitive, functional and integral IT tools is an essential element of the strategy of the HEI development in the permanently changing market reality.
