Abstract
Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is an autoimmune disease which usually affects women of reproductive age and may coexist with pregnancy. Its multisystem involvement and therapeutic interventions pose a high risk for both mother and the foetus. Therefore obstetrician should know about their effects on pregnancy and vice-versa and the therapeutic options available for optimizing maternal and foetal outcome.
