Bilirubin content and dielectrophoresis of erythrocytes of patients suffering from jaundice
Journal Title: Medpulse International Journal of Biochemistry - Year 2017, Vol 3, Issue 3
Abstract
The paper reports the dielectrophoretic behaviour of erythrocytes of blood of the patients suffering from jaundice. The erythrocytes suspended in isotonic solution were subjected to geometry. For this purpose, a pin dielectrophoretic collection rate (DCR) and threshold voltage (V concentration, frequency and voltage of applied field for normal and diseased blood. The study reveals significant differences in dielectrophoretic collection rate and threshold voltage of erythrocytes of diseased patients, when compared with that of healthy persons. The relations between DCR or V

Correlation between LDH isoenzyme and lipid profile on the development of ischemic heart disease
Background: In studying patients with myocardial infarction we found a high serum lactic dehydrogenase (LDH) but a normal serum isocitric dehydrogenase (ICD) although the myocardium is rich in both enzymes. For elevation...
Is saliva, a possible alternative to correlate serum lipids? - An exploratory study
Background and Objective: Serum lipid panel screening has become a routine check up to rule out cardiovascular risks in many clinical conditions & it mainly serves as diagnostic, prognostic & monitoring purposes. But the...
Association of serum leptin and diastolic blood pressure in pre-eclamptic women
Background: Maternal peripheral leptin levels are enhanced during normal pregnancy and collectively suggest that leptin concentrations peak in the second trimester. A better understanding of leptin and its role in PE may...
Serum adenosine deaminase levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and its relation with fasting blood glucose and glycated hemoglobin levels
Background: Insulin resistance and decreased insulin secretion are the main physiological abnormalities of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (DM). Cell mediated immune system disturbance and improper T lymphocyte function also co...
A study of serum Cystatin C levels in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients with normoalbuminuria, microalbuminuria and macroalbuminuria
Background: Diabetic nephropathy, a major microvascular complication of diabetes mellitus, is a leading cause of end-stage renal disease. Early detection of renal dysfunction is the only way to avoid the morbidity and mo...
