CAUSES AND PATTERNS OF COOPERATIVE AND COMPETITIVE INTERACTION IN STATES OF DEPENDANCY OF DIFFERENT ORIGIN

Journal Title: Psychiatry, Neurology and Medical Psychology - Year 2016, Vol 3, Issue 2

Abstract

The analysis of the dynamics of the prevalence and incidence of mental and behavioral disorders due to use of psychoactive substances in Ukraine for the period of 1990–2014 was conducted. The conducted research showed a dynamic character of interrelation between epidemics of dependency on alcohol and addictive substances – from expressed cooperation to clearly shown competition. There were also marked regional differences outlined due to the correlation analysis of showings of illnesses and states of dependency on alcohol and addictive substances in separate administrative territorial units of Ukraine. Asymmetric interaction between socio-demographic characteristics and processes that underlie the development of epidemics of various origins, as well as the phenomenon of "saturation" – the level at which begins decline in the prevalence of alcohol and drug substance abuse was revealed. The obtained data and identified patterns can be specific only for Ukraine and only for a certain period of development of the country.
