CHARACTERISTIC FEATURES OF XVIII-CENTURY MUHAMMASES OF AZERBAIJAN

Abstract
In Azerbaijani poetry of the XVIII century, along with folklore genres, the classic genre of mukhammas acquires great urgency. The most well-known poets of this time, Nishat Shirvani, Shakir Shirvani, Agha Masih Shirvani, Mahjur Shirvani, Shekili Nabi, Molla Veli Vidadi, Molla Panah Vagif, write their most outstanding works in this genre. A number of poets in the form of mukhammas describe historical events. In all these works, the trends of a realistic description of reality are clearly visible.
