Constants Material Identification of Hybrid Composites Classed with Fibre Metal Laminates by Homogenization Method Using

Abstract

The attempt was undertaken for FEM calculation of material constants (Ex, Ey, Gxy, νxy, νyx) of polymer–matrix composite reinforced by glass fabric. The calculations were conducted on the basic of knowledge of physic properties (density), mechanic properties(Young’s modulus, Poisson’s coefficient) of components and weight in weight concentration of components. Calculated values of Young’s modulus were in 15% bigger in comparison with experimentally determined one. It may be explained by idealization of computational models whose don’t consider the structural defects of composite material. The attempt was undertaken also for FEM calculation of Young’s modulus of Fibre Metal Laminat. In this case result of calculation was near to experimental one. On the basis of conducted investigations it was certified that homogenization method may be useful for approximate estimate of composite materials properties. However the determination of true values of material constants require of experimental tests.
