Current Approaches About Dısasters And Role And Responsıbılıtıes Of Dısaster Nurse

Abstract
Due to its geological structure and morphological and climatic features, Turkey frequently encounters natural disasters that lead to great losses in life and property. In order to minimize the impact of disasters on individuals, it is of vital importance to ensure that all healthcare professionals are knowledgeable about disaster management. The higher number of nurses makes their role in disaster management even more important among healthcare professionals. In order to minimize health hazards and life-threatening damages that may occur during disasters, nurses are involved in health management, assistance and provision of care throughout the disaster. For the disaster nurses to be able to serve in line with the expected qualifications, they must be knowledgeable about numerous subjects, such as roles and responsibilities, training, service coverage and research in the fields of disaster nursing. In addition, nurses need to take part in all the activities of institutional risk assessment, and preparation, implementation, evaluation and updating of disaster plans.
