Determination of Some Properties of Herbaceous Plants in Understory of Urban Forestry in Bartın Province

Abstract
This study was carried out in Urban Forestry in Bartın province during vegetation period in 2017. The objective of this research was to determine some properties of vegetation and analyze botanical composition in understory of Urban Forestry in Bartın province. A total of 93 plant taxons were diagnosed that they consisted of 19 legumes, 15 grasses, 59 other family taxons that they belonged to thirty-two plant families . Twenty-five of diagnosed plants had annual life span and the others had perennial. When these plants were evaluated in terms of forage value, twenty of them were decreaser plants with high forage value, seven of them were increaser and the others were invaders. Canopy coverage and botanical composition were determined by transect method. The canopy coverage was %87. Botanical composition was 24,3% legumes, 54,6% grasses and 21.1% other plant families.
