Journal Title: Journal of Computing and Innovation - Year 2018, Vol 2, Issue 2
Abstract
The advent of technology has finally arrived. Information systems are at the forefront of every organization's information processing needs. In the Philippines, the Human Resource (HR) unit of the Department of Health Regional Office VIII is one of the many government offices that require speedy and effective delivery of services to the public. The management is in need of an efficient Personnel Information System (PIS) for updating and monitoring personnel files due to the numerous transactions encountered on a daily basis. The system required the generation of reports for easy summary and retrieval of records based on employees’ statistics. The research design applied to this study was the descriptive qualitative design. The model that applied as the methodology for the development of the system was the Software Development Life Cycle Iterative Model. The result showed that the newly developed PIS helped the employees to minimize their processing time in generating reports and limits the number of personnel needed to process these documents for the whole organization.
