Journal Title: Journal of the Human and Social Science Researches - Year 2017, Vol 6, Issue 2
Abstract
This article contains some examples of the effects of feminism as a philosophical and social movement emerged in the modern era on the modern Qur’anic tafsir and tries to discuss the ways in which tafsir activities are influenced by contemporary thought movements in the sample of feminism. In this study “new” examples of translation and tafsir made by “feminists” and “women” and are thought to have emerged under the influence of feminism will be included and it will be questioned whether or not to talk about a kind of “feminist interpretation/ hermeneutics” movement. On the other hand, feminist Qur’anic hermeneutics is a fairly new interpretation method that emerged in the 20th century and therefore there are some criticisms against this method. In this context, some theological and methodological criticisms of the feminist Qur’anic interpretations will be mentioned at the end of the article.
