FORMING A VALUE-ORIENTED ATTITUDETO A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE THROUGH PHYSICAL EDUCATIONOF STUDENTS OF HIGHER EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS

Abstract

Purpose. To analyze scientific educational literature for the basic concepts of forming a value-oriented attitude to a healthy lifestyle through physical education of students of higher educational institutions. Methodology. Methods of observation and interviewing students and the teaching staff have been used. Results. The emphasis is on adherence to the humanistic trend in modern education, which provides for a harmonious combination of students' physical and spiritual culture to facilitate revival of a value-oriented attitude to physical activities and sports. The paper presents the basic notions of the research and analyzes scientific and pedagogical literature on the main principles that represent interrelation between the process of personality development and continuous formation of value orientations in students of higher educational institutions. It shows the role of physical education as an integral part of the educational process, which is of great importance for the formation of a value-oriented attitude towards a healthy lifestyle in modern youth. Practical value. It is confirmed that the need to take into account individual needs, interests and natural inclinations of students during classroom and extra-curricular physical education activities, which, in turn, will ensure efficiency and positive impact of physical exercises on the development of the individual. The importance of forming a value-oriented attitude towards a healthy lifestyle for a successful completion of the professional training of future specialists is highlighted. Providing youth with the knowledge necessary to understand the ways of implementing a health maintaining function when applying methods of physical education is emphasized. Conclusions. The research perspectives outlined provide for further detailed study of the effect of forming a value-oriented attitude to a healthy lifestyle on vocational training of students of higher education institutions.
