ICT teacher training center with educational innovation CIER-South

Abstract
This paper presents some advances of the project “Teacher training on ICT and research in the classroom”, which is part of the Research Program “School context, ICT and educational change”, which belongs to the Regional Educational Innovation Centers (CIER) project, a Colombian government initiative by the Ministry of National Education. The CIER-South comprises the country’s southwest region and integrates the departments of Cauca, Huila, Nariño, Putumayo, Caquetá,Amazonas, Tolima and Valle del Cauca, and is based on the Universidad del Valle in Cali. This paper proposes some strategies related to teacher training in digital skills and to the main objective of the research project, which is to support teachers from different schools in the process of classroom research, to improve their own teaching practice incorporating ICT or the solving of problems in the institution.
