Investigation Of Heavy Metal (Arsenic) Of Honey Samples From Sanandaj, Ghorveand Saghez In Kurdistan, Iran
Journal Title: International Journal of Farming and Allied Sciences - Year 2015, Vol 4, Issue 6
Abstract
In this study, the probability of the presence of Arsenic in 27 samples of honey from Kurdistan Province (Sanandaj, Saghez and Qorveh) and 9 soil samples of these areas were investigated using Graphite Furnace Atomic Absorption Method. According to the results, Sanandaj honey have the highest level of arsenic pollution (0.01± 0.003 ppm) and Saghez honey have the lowest level of pollution (0.001 ± 0.001 ppm). It is suggested that the high levels of arsenic pollution in Sanandaj honey are due to high population concentration and industrial activities and Traffic congestion. Saghez Honey contained the lowest level of heavy metal and therefore showed better quality.
