Abstract
Investigations upon resistance to mechanical factors of some oil coatings formed on thermally modified ash wood. The aim was the determination of the resistance of coatings formed on thermoash wood protected with selected lacquer products on mechanical factors (abrasion, impact, scratching). For the experiments floorboards made of thermoash wood prepared in industrial conditions in Sawmill "Stefan" Enterprise in Włoszakowice town was used. For the finishing process two lacquer products (oils) with the trade names Hartwachs-Öl and HWS-112-Hartwachs-Siegel from Remmers Polska Comp. were used. It was stated twice higher resistance on scratching of HWS-112 coating. The visible scratch which caused revealing of basis was noticed also after the twice bigger load on the same coating. It was stated among others that, the HWS-112 oil coatings showed significantly higher abrasion than finishing on the base of H-Öl oil product. The tested coatings have comparable impact resistance.
