Major Aspects of Secondary Stylistic Names Studies in Modern English

Abstract
The article highlights some aspects of theory of nomination and its types. In particular, on the basis of the 19-th century English and American works of literature, it studies the concept of the secondary indirect nomination as well as its types and functioning. Describing the language units of the secondary nomination and their functions, the paper stresses the fact that the process of their realization is context-dependent. The issue of the secondary nomination is regarded considering extra-linguistic factors such as time and conditions for writing a literary work, the author’s individual style, the subject-matter of the text.
