STUDY ON THE EFFECTS OF URBANIZATION AND INDUSTIALIZATION ON THE CONCENTRATION OF Pb+2 IN WATER, SOIL AND VEGITABLE SAMPLE ON THE HEAVYTRAFFIC AREA AND LOW LYING AREAS OF “KORBA TOWNSHIP OF C.G. STATE

Journal Title: Asian J of Pharm Sci & Tech - Year 2014, Vol 4, Issue 3

Abstract

ABSTRACT Coal burning is a major source of energy production in the world and around 85 million tones of solid residue are generated each year from coal burning. Approximately 60 million metric tones of this residue is fly-ash. This is a major problem for disposal. The most common methods of fly-ash disposal are land filling and ash settling ponds. Coal ash has been shown to provide plant nutrients, act as limiting materials to neutralize soil acidity, and increase the amount of plant available water in sandy soils. Many research workers have demonstrated the use of fly-ash for increasing crop yields of alfeelfa, barley, white clover and swiss chard and for improving the physical and chemical characteristics of the soils. Key words: Fly ash, Urbanization and Industrialization, Water, Soil and Vegetable sample.
