TARGET ORGAN DETERMINATION FOR AYURVEDA DRUGS (TODAyD) – A NOVEL EVIDENT MODEL FOR WHOLISTIC AYURVEDIC DRUG SUGGESTED IN THE STUDY OF SUKROTPADAKAKARMA
Journal Title: Asian J of Pharm Sci & Tech - Year 2015, Vol 5, Issue 3
Abstract
ABSTRACT All chemical drugs are usually mono molecular. The composition of the molecule is clearly known. Being a single molecule it spreads rapidly, reach the target organ and exhibit the effect. Animal experimentation models for such can be lucidly designed to trace and identify their behavior and action. But with the natural herbal drugs it is difficult to design animal models as they contain many phyto-chemicals. Once the herbal drug is introduced into the body these chemicals enter in different pathways and show their effects at various sites of the body. The process of digestion and metabolism and other pharmacokinetic processes affect the rate of absorption and the effects on the body. Hence to identify the effect of the drug as a whole in animal experimentation “Target Organ Determination for Ayurveda Drugs” (TODAyD) is designed. The same is utilized for the identification of the effect of Dhatriphaladi yoga in Sukra Kshaya both experimentally. Key words: Sukrotpadaka karma, Dhatriphaladiyoga, TODAyD, Target Organ, Ayurveda.
