OPERATING EFFECTS OF AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE LUBRICATED WITH OPERATIONAL SUBSTANCE OF CHEMICAL ACTIVITY
Journal Title: Tribologia - Year 2009, Vol 223, Issue 1
Abstract
This article presents the test results on the changes of lubricating properties of engine oil Elf Performance 3D15W40 modified with an operational substance of chemical activity. Operational tests reveal that, after 40 000 km have been driven in various weather and road conditions, the operational substance of chemical activity had a positive effect on the lubricating properties of the oil, because it increased the durability of the boundary layer and its resistance to breaking. The improvement of the boundary layer improved the tribological properties and reduced the amount of fuel burned.
