Patologia kręgosłupa szyjnego w reumatoidalnym zapaleniu stawów

Abstract
U chorych na reumatoidalne zapalenie stawów zmiany zapalne w obrębie kręgosłupa szyjnego stwierdzane są w 25–80% przypadków. Najczęściej obserwuje się niestabilność w stawie szczytowo-obrotowym. Do czynników ryzyka należą: wysoka aktywność choroby, wczesny wiek zachorowania, czas trwania choroby, obecność czynnika reumatoidalnego. Mielopatia szyjna występuje tylko w 7–34% zmian, lecz wiąże się ze złym rokowaniem. Wczesna interwencja chirurgiczna może zapobiec rozwojowi mielopatii i poprawić rokowanie w tej grupie chorych.
