Abstract
The Internet has become a part of our life and work, developing new applications and ways of communications we never thought possible. Email, e-commerce, digital video streaming, and Internet telephony are just a few of the elements of this communication revolution. To function at specific performance parameters, a network must use certain rules regarding how the network resources are allocated and used by each type of data communication. These rules aim to efficiently achieve the network resource guarantee processes and differentiation of network services as the major goals of the quality of service mechanisms and technologies.
