ROLE AND FUNCTIONS STATE OF authorities OF UKRAINE IN SEAFARERS’S RIGHTS PROTECTION

Abstract
The article deals with the problem of social and labor rights of seafarers. Sailors as a category of workers with specific work functions should be provided with a high level of social security. Unfortunately, today Ukraine does not use a number of documents to protect the rights of seafarers. The aim of the article is to determine the classification and powers of state bodies of Ukraine to promote and protect the rights of seafarers. In addition, the article highlighted a number of provisions for further solution to this problem, as well as the development and improvement of the Ukrainian legislation and the functions of government to solve the problem of Ukraine concerning the protection of social and labor rights of seafarers – citizens of Ukraine. These conclusions are based in an article on the study of international instruments, as well as national and international practice.
