Social technologies as an instrument supporting public interest

Abstract
A focal point of this article is public interest as an issue of public discussion and as a no-tional subject which is needed for broad-based support. The actors of public life generally declare their acceptation and respect for public interests and common goods but they tend to prefer their own interests when the public interest challenges them. Presumably the main scene, where both categories of interests are approached not in the context of alternatives but as completeness, is moved towards social networking. Public approach of common interests and goods is nowadays in radical change as a sequence of globalization processes, unprecedentedly migration, and weakening connections between the individual and his homeland and even with his/her family. From the other side people are becoming increasingly involved into social networks and subsequently engaged into public participation and decision making. The article presents some reflections on undergoing changes leading to a new approach with public interests in society and the ways of protection them.
