SPECIFICS OF ENGLISH DIALOGICAL SPEECH OF SOCIALLY-PEDAGOGICAL ORIENTATION

Abstract

The article focuses on dialogical speech of socio-pedagogical orientation. The specific characteristics of dialogue of specialists in socio-pedagogical sphere are identified. Fluency in foreign languages together with professional skills will give specialists good chances to find a good job and build a successful career. Thus, knowing how to converse in a foreign language is a big part of professional competency for social teachers and now this problem becomes relevant for linguistic investigation as well. The aim of our research is to analyze dialogical speech in the context of social teaching. One of the main features of dialogical speech in the context of social teaching is its situation, i.e. external factors of communication like place, time, personality of a partner (partners), social roles of interlocutors. Based on the analysis of modern literature in the field, survey results obtained from students and teachers of social and pedagogical disciplines in K.D. Ushinsky South-Ukrainian National Pedagogical University the following communicative situations of foreign language dialogical speech were identified: - Establishing contact/ relations, - Presentation of achievements/ results/ projects in the sphere of social teaching and their discussion at international conferences, - Participation in further discussions of own report or reports of others, both officially and unofficially, during international seminars or conferences, - Discussion of newest achievements in the field with colleagues, - Negotiations of future cooperation with colleagues, - Prevention activities, discussion of problematic situations with parents and pupils. In the process of analyzing the program of English language for professional communication and topics of the textbook «English for social teachers» we were able to identify skills necessary for successful communication: - React to important information during detailed discussions or debates, lectures, conversations related to the work of a social teacher, - Rationalize views during discussions about academic and professional life, - React adequately to the position of an interlocutor, Adapt to changes happening during conversations and reflect their direction and style.
