TECHNICAL AND ECONOMIC BASIS OF ALTERNATIVE ENERGY SOURCES

Abstract
Growing demand for energy in a gradual reduction of existing stocks of traditional energy sources contribute to the governments of most countries, including Ukraine, to form the appropriate software that will attract alternative sources of energy in economic circulation. However, like any entity, alternative energy should be based on a clear conceptual framework, the leading place in which occupies a category of "alternative energy sources". The research goal is an analysis of theoretical approaches and legal definition of alternative energy sources and study proposals for their use. This goal can provided the following tasks: explore concepts and categories of the alternative energy; examine the technical and economic parameters of the transformation of energy from renewable sources in order to identify their strengths and weaknesses. The article explored the conceptual and categorical apparatus of renewable energy. Considered the main methods of alternative energy. Shows the technical and economic parameters of the transformation of energy from different sources to assess their competitiveness. Each type of alternative energy sources has one common limitation, namely specificity location installations of production of energy and its processing, which is associated primarily with the technical side of the production of energy from alternative energy sources. That is, for example, to generate energy from sunlight necessary to consider the most sunny regions of Ukraine. Similarly, we can think and on wind energy, geothermal energy, solar energy, hydropower. However, the most promising at least the next 20-30 years should be considered biomass as a source of energy due to the fact that Ukraine has a huge resource potential.
