The effect of spring fertilization with different sulphur fertilizers on the growth and morphological features of winter oilseed rape ES Saphir cultivar

Abstract
In the years 2006–2009 Department of Crop Production, Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences, carried out small plot one-factor experiment, using a random block design, targeted at the effect of different sulphur fertilizers (gypsum, potassium sulphate, ammonium sulphate and Wigor S) on the growth and morphological features of the winter rape hybrid cultivar ES Saphir, as compared to the control. Plant development was mainly correlated with variable weather conditions during the experiment but not with the applied type of sulphur fertilizer. The variable weather conditions significantly influenced all morphological features and yield components. The applied sulphur fertilizers markedly increased the number of siliques per plant and the number and weight of seeds per silique. The weight of 1000 seeds was significantly higher on the plots fertilized with gypsum and Wigor S.
