Abstract
New Media is comprehensively proving to be a significant technological revolution, dawning an era of e-generation. It is creating an eloquent ripple as a dynamic content provider and an interactive media tool, revolutionizing the world of communication. Obliterating various geographical barriers, new media isconnecting individuals across various corners of the world, sprouting a new virtual world. The present paper attempts to study the new media’s ingress into the education sector, redesigning knowledge economy. The online media isallowing students a new avenue to explore their interest and inquisitiveness. As an agent of immense change, it is the opted tool for greater specialization in curriculum through experiential learning. New Media, a forum for interaction, self-expression and an avenue for skill enhancement, is enabling students to develop professionally. Having redefined the learning process infringing the traditional norms of education, it is sculpting individuals as per the industrial demands and survival in the competitive world. With exclusive characteristics and undeniable risks, new media is emerging as the preferred medium for outreach learning in younger generation.
