WORD-FORMATION POTENTIAL OF THE ENGLISH WORD «MEDIA» IS IN UKRAINIAN LANGUAGE

Abstract
Word-formation potential is set in the article, the lexico-semantic features of neolexemes are detected and analysed from the English word «media». On wide actual material the pecul of adaptation of the English word «media» are traced as the constituent of new derivatives The analysis of then demonstrates the word-formation productivity of the English word «media» in the Ukrainian language. This word borrowed at the beginning ХХ century of this word is commonly used in the modern Ukrainian language now instead of bulky word-combination «means of MASS-MEDIA Information» created on its base abbreviation a new formed word, being compactit, appeared to be more suitable for a word-formation.
