Abstract

This research is aimed to 1) develop simple sciences instrument device based on a guided inquiry to improve the skill of the students on critical thinking. 2) to know the appropriateness of physic instrument based on guided inquiry.3) to know increase critical thinking skill by using the appropriateness of this instruments. This research is research and development with 4D models. The average score in an aspect based on the whole result of the assessment by media expert is 99,33%, the material expert is 88,20%, peer reviewer 83,02%, and science teacher upon the simple props is 88,41%, then it can be stated as Good (B). There is an improvement in the student’s result when doing pretest and posttest. The average score of the students when doing pretest is 5,29, and posttest is 7,9. The level of critical thinking skill of the students is on the level medium because the criteria are 0,54.

Abstract

This study aims to provide a comprehensive description of the level of the number of students who have misconceptions about Newton's II Law. This research is located at one State Junior High School in Kab. Pandeglang. The purposive sampling was considering used in this study because it is important to distinguish students who do not know the concept of students who experience misconception. Data were collected using a three tier-test diagnostic test and analyzed descriptively quantitatively. The results showed that the level of misconception was in the two categories of high and medium levels. It needs an innovative teaching technique for subsequent research to treat Newton's Newton misconception.

Abstract

The objectives of this study were: 1) to explain the correlation of metacognitive skills and students achievement taught using Reading-Concept Map-Think Pair Share, and 2) to explain the contribution of metacognitive skills to students achievement. This study used correlational research design. Subjects of this research were the 10th-grade MIA-2 students at SMAN 2 Malang. This study was done in one semester. The results of the study showed that: 1) there was a significant correlation between metacognitive skills and students achievement, and 2) the contribution of metacognitive skills to students achievement was 79,6% %.

Abstract

The purpose of the study is developing articulate studio '13 based learning expert validation through the media and examine the effect on the student learning outcomes. The participants include 48 students of biology education IKIP PGRI Jember with One Shot-Case Study design. The data is analyzed descriptively qualitative. The result of the validation is categorized, the feasible learning activity is good, the student's response is well classified and learning outcomes is complete. The conclusion of this study is learning media based articulate studio '13 can improve student motivation and learning outcomes.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the influence of value clarification model to train discipline and responsibility for the student at PGRI University. This research is quasi-experiment. The population of this research is all students at the PGRI University. The sample of this research by using simple random sampling technique. The data were analyzed using MANOVA Test followed by Bonferroni post hoc test using SPSS 22.0 program. The results showed there is the influence value clarification model to build students’ attitude.

Abstract

The working principle of this tool is to use the coordinates of the horizon. Tools used i.e. compass, bows, tripod, and camera. To test the accuracy of the application use Stellarium mobile version 1.25. The results of this study are to test the accuracy of the altitude angle obtained its accuracy level results at 100%. Whereas, in order to test the accuracy of the altitude reached the corner of 99.86%. the position of the heavenly bodies so that it can be used as a learning media in the Earth and space science course. Abstract

Zeolite is a hydrated aluminosilicate mineral with the three-dimensional structure. The unique zeolite crystal structure makes zeolites have cation boundary properties, adsorption, molecular sieving, catalysts, capture, and release of air molecules. Many studies in various fields including agriculture have been done by utilizing the properties of the zeolite. Indonesia has an abundant source of zeolite reserves and extensive agricultural areas, making it possible to apply zeolite research results to support sustainable agricultural activities. In this article will discuss the potential utilization of zeolite in agriculture based on the studies that have been done.

Abstract

Calcium oxide (CaO) and calcium carbonate (CaCO3) are widely used in industry. CaO and CaCO3 can be synthesized or derived from limestone. The purpose of this study to determine the characteristics of CaO calcined limestone from Ambunten Sumenep. Lime in calcined at 850 ° C for 6 hours. Characterization of X-ray fluorescence (XRF) was conducted to determine the chemical composition of limestone, X-ray diffraction test (XRD) to find the lime crystalline phase and FTIR test to determine the absorption of wave number. XRF test results showed that the limestone chemical composition consisted of Ca of 95.37% as the dominant element, Mg of 4.1%, Fe 0.17% and Y by 0.39%. The XRD test results showed that the limestone crystal phase is ankerite (Ca [Fe, Mg] [CO3] 2) and after the calcined phase calcination is vaterite (Ca [OH] 2), calcite (CaO) and calcite (CaCO3). While the FTIR test results show that the CaO spectra are seen at 3741.24, 1417.12 and 874.14 cm-1.

Abstract

The chemistry teaching at Vocational High School which tends to be theoretical and not directly connected to vocational lesson has caused students to have low interest, low motivation, and low achievement. The problem is becoming more complex due to limited time allotment and limited teaching materials. One of the efforts to solve the problem is by providing the relevant teaching material using contextual learning approach. The aims of this Research and Development (R&D) research are: (1) to produce an appropriate chemistry teaching material on electrochemistry integrated with skill program subjects using Contextual approach for Vocational High School students of Machinery Engineering Department; (2) to know the feasibility of development result of teaching material. The development of the teaching material uses 4D developmental model from Thiagarajan et al consisting of four phases namely Define, Design, Develop, and Desiminate. The dominate phase was not done. The scores of evaluation of the feasibility or the appropriateness of the product from the content expert are 88.75% (very feasible) for the teachers’ book and 91.25% (very feasible) for the students’ book. The expert on media gave 89.25% (very feasible) for the teachers’ book and 89.9% (very feasible) for the students’ book. The result of readability test shows that the teachers’ book is feasible (83.81%) and the students’ book is very feasible (93.61%).

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the application of Project Based Learning Model to Skill of Science Process on Environmental Management Material. This research design uses posttest-only control design with Quasi-Experimental method (quasi-experiment). The sample of this research is 35 students. Based on the results of the analysis of students' science process skills show that the implementation of learning using the model of Project Based Learning is better than the conventional learning model. This can be seen from the calculation of the test-t skills of the science process shows for sig tcount 0.000 <0,05, then Ha accepted and H0 rejected. The result of analysis of the average score of mastery of experimental science process skill class achieves 2.87 with good criteria while the students 'science process skill in control class 1.73 is sufficient to mean that the students' experimental class science process skill is higher than the control class science process skill. Thus, it can be concluded that the model of Project Based Learning affects the Skills of Science Process on Environmental Management Material.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of learning model Challenge Based Learning on the critical thinking ability of environmental materials. The research method used in this research is a quasi-experiment with Non-Equivalent Control Group Design research design. Sampling was used by using purposive sampling technique. The sample of this study class X.2 as the experiment amounted to 20 and class X.3 as the control class amounted to 21 students. The results of this study indicate that the average N-gain of the experimental class is 0.61 which is in the medium category and the average N-gain for the control class is 0.24 which belongs to the low category. Data analysis using t-test with significant level 0,05 obtained tcount = 5,674 while ttable = 1,685 seen that tcount> ttabel. Therefore (Ha) accepted and (H0) rejected thus can be concluded that the learning model of Challenge Based Learning has an effect on critical thinking ability of class X SMA 4 Prabumulih.

Abstract

This research is aimed to develop biology learning materials in Junior High School for plants movement topic to increase students’ achievement and self-directed through Science Process Skill approach. This is development research refers to Kemp’s development model. The learning kit is taught in SMPN 1 Blega Bangkalan Madura for 28 students grade VIII employing science process skill approach. The research design uses One Group Pretest-Posttest and data is analyzed with the qualitative descriptive method. This research reveals that the implementation of learning kit is 83%, dominant student’s activities in 1st and 2nd learning process are observing (22% - 24%), most of the students have positive responses which are indicated by 99% of students expressing their like, the result of students’ learning mastery satisfies the classical criteria for 86%, the rate of students self-directed varies from 55,56% to 83,32%. Based on the data analysis, it can be concluded that the Development of Biology Learning Kit is feasible.

Abstract

The bioremediation technique for a contaminated liquid waste of heavy metals using indigenous bacteria is a convenient alternative to steps continues to be developed. The research aims to find out the effectiveness of an indigenous bacterial consortium in bioremediation of contaminated liquid waste of cadmium by ex-situ. Experiments were arranged in RAL made in ex-situ where a liquid waste industry was given five treatments, namely control and four indigenous bacterial consortia (A, D, E, and J) obtained from the isolation of bacteria originating from cadmium-contaminated of waste in Pasuruan district. Furthermore conducted observations of BOD5, COD, d.o. and Cd for seven days to find out the effectiveness of bioremediation. The results showed the four indigenous bacteria consortia have the bioremediation ability to reduce levels of cadmium, BOD5, COD, and increasing levels of DO. Indigenous bacterial consortia D has the best ability of liquid industrial waste bioremediation by ex-situ. Indigenous bacterial consortia J has the best of capacity reduction levels of cadmium, then the other of indigenous bacterial consortia.

Abstract

Currently, modern medicine has advanced rapidly but habits of drinking herbal medicine are still survived in Madurese society. The local wisdom of drinking herbal medicine in Madurese society, especially in Sampang Regency has been believed to be efficacious for generations. Average medicinal ingredients used are derived from natural ingredients taken from root organs, bark, leaves, fruit or seeds of herbs. This research aims to perform an inventory of herbs that have potential in improving the welfare of Madurese, especially in Sampang Regency. Type of research used is descriptive qualitative research method used is by conducting interviews to the community, IKOT owners, and herbalist. Madurese herbs in Sampang. Based on the results of research, 46 herbs are obtained. Of 46 plants found there are 16 different types of herbs. Herbal plants that many people use (have a percentage of more than 50%) are jahe (Indonesian name), kunyit (Indonesian name), kencur (Indonesian name), kayu rapet (Indonesian name) and delima (Indonesian name). The results of phytochemical screening of fifth herbs showed that positive herbal plants containing saponins were jahe (Indonesian name), kencur (Indonesian name), kayu rapet (Indonesian name) and delima (Indonesian name). And of the five samples, all positively contain secondary metabolites of flavonoids, tannins, and steroids.

Abstract

PGPR (Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria) is a group of bacteria that colonize in the area of the rhizosphere. These groups of bacteria favor plant growth because they are able to mobilize and provide nutrients and phytohormones. The ability of the bacterial group can be utilized as a growth regulator in the red ginger nursery (Z. officinale Var Rubrum). This study aims to determine the optimal dosage of PGPR for the growth of red ginger seed (Z. officinale Var Rubrum). In this study, red ginger rhizome (Z. officinale Var Rubrum) was soaked with various concentrations of PGPR ie 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%. The results of this study indicate that soaking rhizomes using PGPR solution significantly influence the growth of red ginger seeds in the form of high seedlings, the number of shoots grows, the number of leaves and the mass of seedlings. A 25% dose has a better ability to boost the growth of seeds when compared to other doses.
