A case of Paraquat poisoning
Journal Title: Journal Of Pediatric Critical Care - Year 2016, Vol 3, Issue 3
Abstract
Paraquat is a broad spectrum liquid herbicide associated with both accidental and intentional ingestion, leading to severe and often fatal toxicity. There are no clear cut guidelines for the management of Paraquat poisoning and the treatment is usually supportive. Newer treatment options such as immune modulation, hemodialysis, hemoperfusion and antioxidant therapy are being practiced in some centers. We present a case of 9year old female child with paraquat ingestion with review of literature on its management.
