A case of unilateral Macular Coloboma
Journal Title: Medpulse International Journal of Ophthalmology - Year 2017, Vol 2, Issue 2
Abstract
A Macular Coloboma is a horizontally oval or round sharply defined defect in central area of fundus of size ranging from less than 1 to 10 Disc Diameters. Colobomas result from failure of the embryonic fissure to close along the inferonasal aspect of the optic cup and stalk. Macular Colobomas may be Pigmented, Non-Pigmented or associated with abnormal vessel growth which may form an anastomosis within the coloboma or run forward from the lesion into the vitreous. Here we report a case of a 22-year-old male having a unilateral Macular coloboma in the Left Eye.
