A comparative study between adapalene gel 0.1% and tretinoin gel 0.025% in patients with acne vulgaris

Abstract
The study was conducted to compare the efficacy between adaplene 0.1% gel and tretinoin 0.025% gel in patients with acne vulgaris This randomized controlled study was conducted over a period of 6 months in outpatient department of dermatology on 202 patients. Topical adapalene 0.1% gel was given to group A while topical tretinoin 0.025% gel was given to group B for once daily application. Efficacy was ascertained after the end of third month and was graded as excellent or poor response. Adapalene is overall having a better efficacy than tretinoin in the treatment of mild acne vulgaris.
