A Comparative Study of Adam's Narrative in the Light of Divine Books

Abstract

Man has always been fond of stories. Since man is the central concern of the Holy Quran, the Holy Quran, keeping in view human psychology, also adopt the pattern of stories to educate man. One of the most importance stories in the Holy Quran is the story of Hazrat Adam(AS) who is the first man on the earth and the first prophet of Allah. The importance of his story can be access by the fact that it is one of the longest story in the Holy Quran. The storys tell us about the creation of Adam (AS) as well as the conversation between Allah and angels prior to his creation. The events and circumstances related to Hazrat Adam (AS) are also found in early Holy books. In the present article, the purpose of comparison between the narration of the story of Hazrat Adam (AS) in the Holy Quran and in the early holy books is to understand the patters of narration of the holy books and to indicate the changes made in the story of Hazrat Adam (AS) owing to the changes made in the early Holy books.
