A CONCEPTUAL STUDY ON TRIVIDH KARMA IN SHALYA TANTRA

Journal Title: World Journal of Pharmaceutical Research - Year 2018, Vol 7, Issue 4

Abstract

No doubt a good surgeon is required for a surgery to happen successfully, but the better outcome also depends upon the preoperative preparation done before surgery and the post- operative afterwards. Sushruta was well known to this in that era as well, so he emphasized on Trividh karma[1] (i.e Purva, Pradhan and Paschat karma). Here purva karma refers to the pre-operative preparation of the patient along with collecting tools and other materials required for surgery (pradhan karma), Pradhan Karma includes Ashtavidh Shastra Karma[2] and Pashchat Karma means intense post- operative care.
