A Model to Increase the Security of Healthcare Management Systems by Integrating Blockchain Technology

Journal Title: System Engineering and Productivity - Year 2024, Vol 4, Issue 2

Abstract

In the present era, the demand for health care is increasing. The rapid growth of the world's population and the limitation of resources and the development of information have made the proper provision of services costly and challenging, especially the occurrence of health and medical violations and errors. Therefore, the present study was conducted with the aim of determining a model to increase the security of health and medical service management systems by integrating blockchain technology. This study was conducted as descriptive research with a qualitative and quantitative method and by means of a questionnaire with two types of multiple-choice and descriptive questions. The statistical population included experts, and their number was 3 people from within the country and 15 people from abroad, a total of 18 people. After collecting the information, its analysis was carried out with SPSS27 and PLS4 software. The findings showed that the occurrence of health and medical violations and errors has made the safety and security of providing health and medical services risky for patients. Blockchain technology, with its capabilities to reduce violations and errors, can help increase patient safety and security, and impact the quality of healthcare services.
