A MODIFIED NICE MECHANISM WITH DISTRIBUTED HOST - BASED IDS (D - HIDS) SYSTEM

Abstract
In the past few years Cloud security is a cha lleng ing issue tha t has attracted a lot of research and development effort. Particu larly, attackers can explore vulnerabilities and compromise virtual mach ines to deplo y further large - scale Distributed Denial - of - Service (DDoS) . Within the cloud system, th e detection o f zombie exploration atta cks is extremely difficult. This is because cloud users may install vulnerable app lications on their virtual machin es. The existing NIC E Method can detect and measure th e vulnerabilities, an d can coun ter measure the a ttacks, but the scalability is very less and there is huge p erformance degradation in in trusion detections a t the Host. To overcome the above problems A Mo dified NICE Mechan ism with a Distribu ted Host - Based Ids (D - Hids) System is proposed. This D - HIDS enhance the overall a ccuracy of intr usion assessment as well as the ab ility of d etecting new classes of intrusions. In add ition to that, this A n ew decentralized acces s control scheme is introduced to make our design still stronger t o access in a decen tralized manner
