A Multimodal Biometric System Using Fingerprint and Face
Journal Title: International Journal of Advanced Research in Computer Engineering & Technology(IJARCET) - Year 2012, Vol 1, Issue 4
Abstract
— Biometric identification system, which uses physical or behavioral features to check a person’s identity, ensures much greater security than passwords and number systems. Biometric features such as face or fingerprint can be stored on a microchip in credit card, for example. A single feature, however, sometimes fails to be exact enough to identification. Another disadvantage of using only one feature is that the chosen feature is not always readable; a multi-modal identification that uses two different features face, and fingerprint to identify people. With its two modalities, this achieves much greater accuracy than single-feature systems. Even if one modality is somehow disturbed, the ether one modality still leads to an accurate identification. This article goes into detail about the use of face and fingerprint modalities for identification.

Calculation of Transients at Different Distances in a Single Phase 220KV Gas insulated Substation
This paper describes the VFTO are usually Transient vervoltages in a gas insulated substation. A few Gas Insulated Substation (GIS) units have been in operation and large number of units are under various stages of...
Modelling and Controller Design of Inverted Pendulum
In this paper modeling of an inverted pendulum has been done and then three different controllers (PID & SFB, LQR) have been used for stabilization of the pendulum. The proposed system extends classical inverted...
