A New Design Argument
Journal Title: Filozoficzne Aspekty Genezy - Year 2011, Vol 8, Issue 0
Abstract
Since the time of Darwin the concept of intelligent cause was eliminated from natural science. For scientific naturalists claimed that invoking such a cause contradicts the nature of science. Author argues, however, that the discoveries made in biology and mathematics since the half of twentieth century give a foundation for reintroduction of the concept of intelligent cause into natural science. For specified complexity, it is information, in the structure of DNA it was discovered, and in the light of the whole of our present knowledge such an effect is produced only by the action of intelligence. According to author, application of abductive reasoning to this case, reasoning that is a fully valid scientific method, enforces the conclusion that DNA is designed. He argues also that objections – philosophical, methodological and psychological in character – to such a conclusion are unsound and easily refutable.

Methodological Naturalism?
The philosophical doctrine of methodological naturalism holds that, for any study of the world to qualify as “scientific”, it cannot refer to God’s creative activity (or any sort of divine activity). The methods of scien...
SETI and Intelligent Design
Proponents of intelligent design theory frequently claim that their theory is analogical to the search for extraterrestrial intelligence (SETI) program and, as a consequence, it has scientific character. However, author...
The Historical Relationship Between Darwinism and the Biological Design Argument
It is often held that the argument from biological design (ABD) was valid and almost universally accepted before Darwin, that it was the most important rational ground for theism, and that it was invalidated by Darwinism...
Darwinism and the Problem of Evil
Author argues against the view that accepting the Darwinian idea of evolution precludes the possibility to be a faithful Christian. Author cites the objections of leading evolutionists to the Christian religion (argument...
