A new lupane triterpene glycoside from Euphorbia boissierana Prokh.
Journal Title: Trends in Phytochemical Research - Year 2017, Vol 1, Issue 3
Abstract
Euphorbia plants displayed a wide range of biological activities including anticancer, antitumor, anti-diabetic, anticoagulant, antiproliferative, antioxidant, cytotoxic and modulation of multidrug resistance. Euphorbia boissierana Prokh. is one of the 45 species growing in Georgia. A new lupane triterpene glycoside (1) was isolated from the MeOH extract of the aerial parts of E. boissierana. The structure of 1 was elucidated as 3-[(O-β-D-fucopyranosyl-(12)-β-D-glucopyranosyl)oxy] lup-20(29)-en-3β, 28-diol. Structure elucidation was accomplished through the extensive use of 1D- and 2D NMR experiments including 1H–1H (COSY) and 1H–13C (HSQC, HMBC) spectroscopy along with ESI-MS and HR-ESI-MS.This is the first report of the isolation of betulin glycoside from the genus Euphorbia.

Chemical constituents of essential oil from the stem of Amomum villosum Lour
The chemical constituents of essential oil of Amomum villosum Lour stem grown in Vietnam was investigated by gas chromatography (GC-FID) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). The essential oil was obtained by...
Flavonol glycosides with insecticidal activity from methanol extract of Annona mucosa leave
Three flavonoids, quercetin 3-O-β-D-glucoside (1), quercetin 3-O-α-D-arabinoside (2) and kaempferol 3-O-β-D-galactoside (3) were isolated from the methanol leaf extract of Annona mucosa. Their structures were determined...
Phytochemicals in leaves and extracts of the variety “Plovdiv 7” of Bulgarian oriental tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum L.)
This study aims to identify and analyze the non-volatile fraction (chemicals, polyphenols, phenolic acids, flavonoids, and triterpenes) and volatile fraction (essential oil and crude extracted aroma fractions) present i...
Cymbopogon citratus Stapf (DC) extract attenuates gasoline vapour-induced low-triiodothyronine syndrome, oxidative stress and lipid peroxidation in rats
Cymbopogon citratus Stapf (DC) (Lemongrass) is a widely distributed aromatic perennial plant that has the potential to mitigate xenobiotic-induced systemic disorders. However, whether C. citratus has any ameliorative eff...
