A New Method for Finding an Optimal Solution for Transportation Problems
Journal Title: International Journal on Computer Science and Engineering - Year 2012, Vol 4, Issue 7
Abstract
In this paper a new method named ASM-Method is proposed for finding an optimal solution for a wide range of transportation problems, directly. A numerical illustration is established and the optimality of the result yielded by this method is also checked. The most attractive feature of this method is that it requires very simple arithmetical and logical calculation, that’s why it is very easy even for layman to understand and use. This method will be very lucrative for those decision makers who are dealing with logistics and supply chain related issues. Because of the simplicity of this method one can easily adopt it among the existing methods.

Analysis of Dependencies of Checkpoint Cost and Checkpoint Interval of Fault Tolerant MPI Applications
In this paper, we have analysed i) the relationship between the checkpoint cost and the optimal checkpoint interval and ii) the relationship between the checkpoint cost and the number of processors (processes) and we hav...
Upgraded Selection Sort
Sorting is a technique which is frequently used in our day to day life. It has a direct implication on searching. If the data is sorted on any key attribute, finding data based on that key attribute becomes very fast. Th...
Traffic Engineering without Congestion Hot Spots in MPLS
Traffic Engineering [1] broadly relates to optimization of the performance of the operational IP network. In networking, network congestion occurs when a link or node is carrying so much data that its quality of service...
An Index Based Skip Search Multiple Pattern Matching Algorithm
DNA Pattern matching, the problem of finding sub sequences within a long DNA sequence has many applications in computational biology. As the sequences can be long, matching can be an expensive operation, especially as ap...
A Scheduling Approach with Processor and Network Heterogeneity for Grid Environment
Processor heterogeneity is an important issue in grid environment. In this paper, a list based task scheduling algorithm, called “critical path scheduling with t-level” (CPST) for grid computing system is proposed. There...
