A Numerical Solution for the Lifting Surface Integral Equation
Journal Title: INCAS BULLETIN - Year 2014, Vol 6, Issue 1
Abstract
In this paper, we present a new numerical treatment of the lifting surface integral equation (LSIE) in the case of rectangular wing planform. The kernel of this equation possesses a strong singularity in Hadamard sense. First the equation is transformed into one containing weaker singularities, of Cauchy-type, and then the 2D singular integral is discretized by the aid of the Gausstype quadrature formulae. Thus the problem is reduced to a finite system of linear algebraic equations. The numerical simulation reveals a very good agreement, in terms of jump pressure over the wing and aerodynamic coefficients, with the exact solution in the case of the low aspect ratio wing and also with other numerical solutions.

Blowdown wind tunnel control using an adaptive fuzzy PI controller
The paper presents an approach towards the control of a supersonic blowdown wind tunnel plant (as evidenced by experimental data collected from “INCAS Supersonic Blowdown Wind Tunnel”) using a PI type controller. The key...
Importance of a second entrance in a test cell
The present paper studies the influence of a secondary intake and its effect on the jet stability. Three configurations have been analyzed: one with the secondary intake closed, the second having a convergent nozzle afte...
Modeling of Target Tracking System for Homing Missiles and Air Defense Systems
One reason of why the guidance and control systems are imperfect is due to the dynamics of both the tracker and the missile, which appears as an error in the alignment with the LOS and delay in the response of the missil...

Strain resolving method of composite plane plates
The paper deals with the extension of isotropic plates problem to the case of composite plates. In order to perform it, the Kirchhoff-Love hypotheses were "softened” by some additional ones. Considering the constitutive...
