A PERFECT MATHEMATICS TEACHING EXPERIENCE IS WORKING WITH STUDENTS

Abstract

The quality of teaching is largely dependent on the teacher's competence, and learning and educational success, in turn, may depend on the student's intellectual ability, subject preparation, abilities, experience of working independently, etc. The basic math knowledge of students who enroll to the College is usually of moderate or even low-level. Therefore, in the training (learning) process the teacher must look for proper training and evaluation methods and techniques that comply with students' level of preparation, and promote interest in the subject studied. While searching for answers on how to improve the instruction of mathematics, and hence the study process, the level of math knowledge that was brought to the college as well as acquired during the studies and the ways to improve it have been started to be analyzed. The article discusses current issues of teaching of mathematics, best practices of teaching mathematics at Kauno Kolegija; diagnostic test results of the first-year students at Kauno Kolegija in 2009-2013 are presented.
